The Role:
We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to support our Fixed Income Trading desk as a Trader. The candidate will be responsible for risk management, strategy configuration, implementation, and primary market trading.
Traders work closely with operations, compliance, brokers, and custodians to mitigate risk and generate revenue for the firm. They design, operate, and improve high-performance algorithmic trading strategies deployed on electronic trading venues and RFQ trading platforms worldwide.
Our ETF traders build and manage relationships with issuers and other trading partners. This team has the opportunity to work closely with software engineers to enhance and further develop the firm's trading strategies.
Virtu Financial is a well-established market maker in the ETF space in Europe, looking to significantly expand its current product offering to cover all underlying asset classes.
Requirements:
* 2-5 years of experience working in a trading support role or comparable role at a trading firm or financial institution.
* Excellent academic background; quantitative lean preferred (computer science, math, sciences, economics, and related fields).
* Fixed Income ETF or bond experience required; knowledge and experience pricing, settling, clearing Fixed Income beneficial.
* Strong ability to communicate information confidently and with agility to both clients and colleagues internally.
* Technical proficiency - SQL and Python used by most Traders at Virtu; prior experience in these or other programming languages required.
* A 'physicalizer'; a person who identifies issues and creates solutions without rigid direction or fanfare.
* Highly motivated and tenacious individual, with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team.
* Team player: authentic, genuine person capable of working towards collective goals.
Salary:
$120,000 - $180,000 per year, estimated based on title, job description, and location.
