Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the nursing team, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining the unit's operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the daily operations of the Step Down Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
* Lead, manage, and support the nursing team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
* Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain and improve patient care standards.
* Coordinate patient care plans, ensuring effective communication between multidisciplinary teams.
* Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed.
* Provide clinical expertise and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical guidelines.
* Manage staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training and development needs.
* Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
* Promote a culture of patient safety, continuous improvement, and professional development within the unit.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of post-registration nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
