Site Manager – Galway – Commercial fit out
Our client is a €500m turnover, multi-disciplined main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake large turnkey projects for blue-chip clientele, in Europe the focus is on Data Centres and similar tech-focussed projects. In Ireland they operate as more of a generalist main contractor working across a variety of industry sectors including healthcare / hospitals, residential, education and industrial
Due to a recent project win, our client is now seeking a Site Manager in Galway.
Responsibilities
* Project Planning and Coordination: The site manager is responsible for overseeing the overall execution of the fit-out project, ensuring that it progresses according to the established schedule. They coordinate the different trades (e.g., carpenters, electricians, painters) and ensure that all necessary resources (materials, tools, personnel) are available on time.
* Health and Safety Management: Ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations is a critical responsibility. The site manager monitors site conditions, conducts safety audits, and ensures that all workers follow safe working practices to prevent accidents or injuries.
* Quality Control and Inspection: The site manager is responsible for maintaining high-quality standards throughout the fit-out process. They conduct regular inspections to ensure that construction and installation work meets both the client's specifications and industry standards. If issues arise, they work to resolve them swiftly.
* Budget and Cost Control: Site managers monitor the project's budget and ensure that work is completed within financial constraints. They track expenditures, manage subcontractor payments, and resolve any potential cost overruns. They may also be involved in procuring materials or negotiating prices with suppliers.
* Client and Stakeholder Communication: The site manager acts as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and contractors. They provide regular progress updates, address concerns, and ensure that the client's needs and expectations are met. Effective communication is crucial to ensuring that the project is completed on time and to the desired standard.
Requirements
* Up to 10 years’ Site Management experience
* Previous Main Contractor experience ideally large-scale commercial/mixed-use development projects experience beneficial
* Third level qualification or Trades background (Excellent knowledge of Trades)
