Job DescriptionAtkinsRéalis one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.We are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, with relevant experience in the water/wastewater sector to join the Employer’s Representative team within the Infrastructure Division. The candidate will be responsible for the administration of construction contracts with a primary MEICA focus, across various contract types (primarily Uisce Éireann but also FIDIC, Public Works, NEC). The candidate will also be involved in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects for Irish Water and other clients. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and ambitious team with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.Duties will includeUndertake role of Employer’s Representative as part of a multidiscipline team.Ensuring project design and construction meet safety and current standards and regulations.Liaise with design build operate (DBO) Contractors, Resident Engineering (RE) team and Client personnel.Prepare monthly progress monitoring reports (internal & external stakeholders).Attend monthly progress meetings with client. RE and contractors.Stakeholder management (e.g. UE Asset Planning and Operations, local authorities, third party designers, etc.)Review of Contractor HSQE documentationReview and assess Contractor submissions including management plans, method statements and risk registers.Review Contractor MEICA design submissions including equipment details against Client requirements and preparation of concise review comments.Coordinate responses to RFI’s from the ContractorReview and certify Contractor’s monthly Payment Certificate application against works complete and complete final account.Review, assess and prepare reports/respond to Contactors claims.Assess Contractor performance against Contractual KPIsCoordinating safety file and handover document reviewsKey SkillsFamiliarity with industry-standard forms of contract e.g. Uisce Éireann, FIDIC, NEC, Public Works (preferable but not necessary across all contracts noted).Experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of MEICA water/wastewater infrastructureKnowledge of safety and health regulations with regard to the design and construction processAttention to detail and ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems is essential.Experience in financial management of design and construction budgets.Well-motivated, able to work within a team environment and under own initiative to achieve project goalsExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English.Membership of an Engineering Professional Body.Chartered Engineer (an ideal – working towards chartership).Flexible approach with ability to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.Positive outlook and approachable manner.About Us:At AtkinsRéalis we put Environment, Sustainability and Health & Safety at the heart of our business strategy.
