Purpose of the Position:
This role will assist the Project Manager, Planners, and Work Coordinators on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the highest standards of operational safety are maintained at all times by their team.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Including but not limited to the following:
1. Act as a role model for Omexom Company Values
2. Acting as a role model for all safety-related matters, thereby supporting the Project Manager in developing and delivering safety culture within the team.
3. Identifying, communicating, and implementing OSRA/JSSP prior to work commencing.
4. Liaising with the Project Manager to ensure all safety critical information and operational method changes are communicated.
5. Ensuring all site work is carried out in line with established procedures, as established by ESB / Omexom.
6. Ensuring all tools and equipment for a safe working environment are available and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and in line with Powerteam policies and procedures.
7. Ensuring all approved PPE is available on site and that the team is using it appropriately.
8. Assisting the Project Manager with performing safety inspections to high standards.
9. Managing site staff and subcontractors.
10. Interfacing with client stakeholders.

Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
1. QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical
2. PICW Approval Level 2 OR Level 3. (Please note L1 approval will be considered)
3. IOSH Managing Safety in Construction
4. Sufficient knowledge and awareness of safety legislation, requirements, policies, and procedures.
5. Be an effective communicator and able to communicate with various levels of management.
6. Knowledge of required PPE for site employees.
7. Knowledge of plant machinery and vehicles for site use.
8. Supervisory experience.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience in safety audits.
2. Knowledge of all rules and regulations relating to the role as specified in the ESB Safety Rules 2022 (Electrical) Transmission, distribution and associated documents.
3. Knowledge and experience in the application of ESB substation procedures.
