Description OverviewThe Supply Chain & Operations Finance Senior Director is the business partner to the International Supply Chain & Operations leadership. This role proactively provides consultation advice on the financial implications and the risk of supply chain & operations activities, with recommendations on mitigation options.
The role will specifically focus on increasing TSR (Total Shareholder Return) and ROIC (Return on Invested Capital) for the International region by focusing on improvements to plant efficiencies, input costs, capacity utilization and working capital.
This role requires a deep understanding of the CPG industry's financial, sourcing, and operations dynamics, including product costing, inventory management, pricing strategies, market trends, and trade-off between demand and supply.
The Supply Chain & Operations Finance Senior Director is a key member of the regional finance management team and International Supply Chain & Operations leadership team and collaborates with other departments to drive financial performance, optimize profitability, and drive strategic decision-making.
Scope of the RoleLeverage prior experience and best practices to develop and implement the Supply Chain & Operations financial strategy to support the company's overall business objectives, specifically including implementation of the Integrated Business Planning cycle, trade-off analysis between demand and supply, and scenario planning evaluation.Lead Supply Chain & Operations financial insights and provide recommendations to the executive team that will proactively guide business decisions.Provide analysis, recommendation and approval of investment and profitability for complex projects (e.g. make vs buy, sourcing, demand and supply, site infrastructure, site optimization, new products, promotions).Business Partnership & Support:Serve as the key finance business partner to the International/Global Supply Chain & Operations leadership.Lead the long term and annual budgeting process, including setting regional financial targets, preparing integrated business planning, and monitoring financial performance. Specific focus on demand planning, supply planning, product costs, variances, OPEX, CAPEX, and Inventory levels.Support M&A activities, including due diligence, valuation, and integration planning.Identify and manage Supply Chain & Operations financial risks, including currency, credit, freight, and operational risks. Summarize the financial impacts.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, facilities & quality regulations and corporate governance requirements.Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders as needed.Financial Analysis & Reporting:Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis Center of Excellence, on the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and analyses to provide accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders including presenting results during IBP leadership meetings.Collaborate with business partners beyond Supply Chain & Operations (ie.Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Regulatory Affairs) to "connect the dots" and collaborate cross-functionally to drive and deliver our growth priorities.Analyze financial performance against budget, forecast, and historical trends; identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions. Monitor key financial metrics, including volume growth, product costs, variances, profit margins, OPEX, CAPEX, and inventory levels.Cost Management & Operational Efficiency:Collaborate with the global cost accounting function, to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation.Implement and maintain effective financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory regulations and corporate policies.Develop and oversee financial strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and monitoring performance metrics.Lead and mentor a team of Supply Chain & Operations finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Ensure the finance team is equipped with the necessary skills, tools, and resources to meet organizational goals.Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or recognized accounting qualificationTypically 10+ year's experience in Supply Chain & Operations Finance roles with experience in a regional environmentIn-depth knowledge of the CPG industry, including market dynamics, consumer behavior, regulatory environment, current industry trends, and best practicesPrior experience implementing and/or working in an IBP cycle and other supply chain technology advancementsDemonstrated experience in leading financial planning and analysis for complex supply chain operations.Proven track record of driving cost reduction and operational efficiency in large-scale manufacturing and distribution environments.Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems, and financial reporting software.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.Strong business acumen and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.Excellent interpersonal / relationship-building capabilities with the ability to quickly form working relationships, gain credibility and influence solutions with senior stakeholdersProactive in identifying and solving problems/issues; a drive for continuous professional development in self and othersExcellent presentation preparation and delivery skills with an attention to detail and ability to "tell the story" in "Plain English" for non-financial, non-operations audiencesExcellent language skills in English and additional languages are an assetThis position is based at the company's headquarters in Dublin, Ireland with potential travel to manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and other operational sites as needed.
