Reporting to the Company Health & Safety Manager, the junior H&S officer will be responsible for monitoring the company’s safety performance and advise on compliance in line with our Health, Safety and Welfare policies.
The H&S officer will assist with site inspections and audits, communicating the findings to site supervision, and assist in the closure of issues, while ensuring compliance and promoting good work practices in relation to health, safety, and welfare on site.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Maintenance of site training register
* Inducting all personnel/contractors attending site
* Maintaining site safety files/documentation
* Ensuring through inspections, compliance on site, as well as completing toolbox talks, issuing relevant permits, and completing daily SSWP’s
* Reporting issues/non-compliance to the H&S Manager and site management
* Assist in the completion of weekly site safety reports
* Assisting in accident/incident investigations, completion of reports, etc
* Attending site meetings
Qualifications:
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety.
Experience/Skills:
Experience in the construction industry is preferred but not essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Excel, Word, and general computer literacy.
Needs to be an excellent problem solver, team player, and good interpersonal skills.
Must have the ability to work on their own initiative and be self-motivated.
