A Permanent full-time position is available in a well-established homeless and drug service.
Role Description
The Community Engagement Worker will work collaboratively with the community to reduce the harm caused by addiction and homelessness, minimizing the impact of services on the local community, including anti-social behaviour and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work within the organisation's mission to provide support to families in need.
* Collaborate with the community to address issues related to homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.
* Develop and implement strategies to de-escalate difficult situations and manage challenging behaviour.
* Provide support and guidance to clients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
Requirements
* A minimum Third Level 7 Social Care Qualification.
* A minimum 12 months' full-time experience or part-time equivalent working in a similar low-threshold environment.
* An understanding of issues relating to National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare, including homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.
* Experience in dealing with de-escalating difficult situations, including managing challenging behaviour.
* Experience of working in a security role would be an advantage.
