Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Kubernetes Infrastructure to lead our global team in designing, building, and maintaining Kubernetes-based infrastructure. This role requires a strategic leader with deep technical expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies, combined with strong experience in people and project management.
As a key decision-maker, you will drive our Kubernetes infrastructure strategy, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance while empowering teams to deliver exceptional services. You will collaborate across teams to establish best practices, optimize systems, and align team objectives with broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
* Lead quarterly and annual planning processes, setting clear objectives, deliverables, and key results.
* Support team members’ growth through mentorship, career development opportunities, and continuous feedback.
* Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
* Steer hiring efforts to attract and retain top talent in Kubernetes infrastructure.
* Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team success.
Technical Strategy & Execution
* Provide technical direction to optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
* Lead architectural reviews to ensure best practices in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native operations.
* Assess and mitigate risks while maintaining high availability and operational excellence.
* Work with security teams to implement compliance and governance best practices for Kubernetes clusters.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
* Partner with engineering teams on global initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of Kubernetes infrastructure.
* Align engineering priorities with business and product team objectives.
* Represent the global Systems Engineering team internally and externally, advocating for infrastructure advancements and investments.
* Engage with vendors, open-source communities, and industry experts to stay at the forefront of Kubernetes best practices.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
* Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
* 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, or related fields, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
* Expertise in Kubernetes, containerization (Docker), and cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Experience in scaling and optimizing distributed systems, with strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, and storage.
* Proven ability to lead high-performing engineering teams and drive technical roadmaps.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across teams and leadership levels.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, etc.).
* Knowledge of SRE principles, monitoring, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
* Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices for Kubernetes deployments.
* Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the Kubernetes community.
