Job Description:
A reputable SME business based in Cork City is seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join their finance team as a part-time Payroll and Accounts Payable Assistant. The company is known for delivering high-quality products and services, and this role will be ideal for someone with strong experience in payroll and accounts payable processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing payroll for a small to medium-sized workforce, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
* Preparing and submitting payroll-related reports to management.
* Processing and managing supplier invoices and ensuring they are paid on time.
* Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and reconciling accounts.
* Preparing payment runs and managing payment schedules.
* Communicating with suppliers regarding payment issues or discrepancies.
* Assisting with monthly and year-end closing procedures.
* SUPPORTING THE PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL REPORTS AND BUDGETS AS REQUIRED.
* Managing administrative tasks related to payroll and accounts payable functions.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in payroll processing and accounts payable.
* Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Good understanding of taxation, payroll legislation, and accounting procedures.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage deadlines efficiently.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* A qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field would be advantageous, though not essential.
