Job Title: Full Time Food and Beverage Assistant

Responsible To: Food and Beverage Manager, Assistant Food and Beverage Manager
Overall Job Purpose:
To provide a friendly and efficient service within the food and beverage areas, dispensing orders accurately and courteously to the standards required by the company. Ensure cleanliness, correct mis-en-place, and set up of the waiting areas prior to service. Guests should be warmly greeted; orders taken efficiently and served to a high standard to ensure guest satisfaction.
Role Specific Duties:
* Arrive for work on time and in proper uniform
* Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming
* Clock in/out adhering to the Company Clocking Policy
* Maintain cleanliness in the bar/restaurant/banquets areas
* Efficiently dispense and serve drinks and food when required
* Be aware of menu items of the day and drink services
* Deliver exceptional friendly service to every guest in line with the Talbot Collection 'Empower Your Excellence' customer service program
* Adhere to all Fire, Safety and Hygiene regulations and comply with the Health and Safety at work act 2005 as detailed in your staff handbook
* Familiarise and adhere to Company Policies and procedures as outlined in your staff handbook
* Carry out duties outlined in the departmental SOPs
* Safeguard Company money, goods, and assets
* Handle customer complaints professionally and notify Management
* Upsell Company products and services where possible
* Prepare waiting areas fully for service
* Serve all food and drinks efficiently with minimum delay
* Liaise closely with the kitchen
* Ensure all orders are taken accurately
* Anticipate guest needs at all times
* Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests
Meet and greet guests on arrival, ensure they are seated and provided with menus promptly, and respond to guests' requests and queries effectively.
Be familiar with the Bar menu and the food and beverage offerings to answer guest questions. Take food and beverage orders and ensure they are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately. Ensure efficient and safe delivery of all food and beverage orders, maintaining an exceptional level of service.
Ensure all food and beverage orders are inputted in the tills and charged correctly, with no open checks at the end of the shift. Set up, clear, and promptly service tables to ensure timely seating for guests. Clean and sanitize tables and countertops after each guest.
Health & Safety:
Maintain high standards of health and safety, complete required cleaning tasks according to the Bars daily and weekly tasks sheet, and keep storage areas clean, tidy, and safe. Report any faults or problems with equipment in the Bar.
* Proactively involve yourself in Health and Safety, reporting and acting on incidents, accidents, or damage in the Hotel.
Work in a way that minimizes risks to the health and safety of yourself and others.
Personal Development:
Ensure personal mandatory training is up to date, review your work against role requirements, and identify development areas.
* Be present and punctual for all in-house/external training programs as requested.
Additional Duties:
Deliver exceptional friendly service at all times, acting as an 'ambassador' of the Talbot Collection. Maintain professional, respectful, polite, and friendly interactions with guests and colleagues.
* Establish and maintain a respectful working relationship with colleagues and management.
* Work as part of the broader team, assisting and supporting colleagues and management as necessary.
* Support the company's commitment to excellence and quality by complying with company SOPs and service standards.
Have total product knowledge of all the property's services and facilities, and total awareness of the Talbot Collection's product offerings.
* Read and adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook.
* Be present and punctual for all in-house/external training programs as requested.
* Comply with all fire, safety, and hygiene regulations, and adhere to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
* Take proactive involvement in Health and Safety, reporting and acting on incidents, accidents, or damage in the Hotel.
* Be proactive in maintaining energy efficiency in the property.
* Comply with all policies, procedures, and memos of the Collection.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.
