We have a newly opened position available in our Dublin site for a Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our established and versatile facilities team.
This role would suit someone who lives within commutable distance of the site with a background in biotech or pharma facilities, but most importantly the successful candidate needs to have a strong desire to learn on the job and do a bit of everything.
What You'll Be Doing
The primary function of this role is to provide day-to-day guidance to the Facilities team members, with a strong focus on the provision of equipment support and quality requirements on documentation for Laboratory and Utility equipment.
This position will be the Site Subject Matter Expert for laboratory, utility, and facility equipment on the site and ensure all associated equipment sets are available in a safe and compliant condition at all times.
This is a key role and will provide training and support for Facilities, Calibration and Validations Technicians across the site.
Main Tasks:
1. Responsible for the maintenance of utility and laboratory equipment e.g. Electrical Systems, HVAC, Chillers, plant, autoclaves and Isolators, Compressed air.
2. Ensure Equipment & Utilities comply with cGMP requirements and that maintenance execution is following documented procedures.
3. Manage and co-ordinate emergency breakdown repair on all equipment to ensure minimal disruptions to site operations.
4. Support the Facilities Team on a day-to-day basis, identify training requirements and develop the skillset within the group to support operations.
5. Budget and monitor spending, working within budget limits and continually improving budgetary performance.
6. Support the Facilities Department in regulatory and client audits as required.
7. Completing any deviations and impact investigations on failures and implementing engineering-related CAPA actions.
8. Support the Site Preventative Maintenance and Calibration program for the Site ensuring compliance with current regulations.
9. Coordinate on-site Contractor Activities to ensure adherence to EH&S and Quality systems.
10. Assist in the execution of Validation Projects (IQ, OQ & PQ) relating to site equipment where required.
11. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
12. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
13. Maintain key site documents including Engineering Work Requisitions, PM Schedules, Weekly Facility Checklists, Equipment records, and files.
14. Carry out breakdown and preventive maintenance on all equipment e.g. Pumps, AHU’s (Air Handling Units), A/C (Air Conditioning), Generators & BMS (Building Management System), Emergency Generators, Sprinkler Systems & Laboratory Equipment.
15. Ensure that all site safety equipment is regularly maintained.

Skills and Experience
National Craft Certificate City & Guilds in electrical, mechanical or similar trade.
Minimum 1-3 years experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent.
Experience in Pharma / Biotech / Med Devices facilities.
Awareness of GMP regulations.
A strong desire to get involved, learn, and be part of a team.
Other relevant skills like ropes, bio waste, contractor management or similar will also be advantageous.
