Job: Senior Grade Occupational Therapist - Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team Location:Limerick Job Type:Full-time, 35 hour week, 1 year contract Working hours: 8:00am -3:30pm Salary:HSE Pay Senior pay scale Excel Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist with a specialty in Neurology to join a Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) in Limerick. This is an exceptional opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing excellent Occupational Therapy services for individuals aged 18-65 with diagnosed Neurological conditions across Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary. About the Team: The Mid-west Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team provides a Therapy service for individuals with Neurological conditions such as acquired brain injury, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, cerebellar ataxia, and Friedreich's ataxia. It is an out-patient, appointment-based service, offering individual, group, single and joint therapy sessions. Therapy is provided mainly in the Rehabilitation centre but can also take place in the community or at home. Patients attend the centre from two to four times per week for a potential of 12 weeks. The treatment is flexible and individually tailored to support the client in working towards the achievement of their identified goals. The treatment period can also include breaks in therapy (usually between 2-4 weeks.) This aids in consolidating the person's abilities and increasing their independence. The Multidisciplinary Team includes a Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologist, Rehabilitation Assistant and a Clerical Officer. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individual, group, single, and joint therapy sessions. Provide therapy in the rehabilitation centre, community, or at home. Tailor treatment plans to support clients in achieving their identified goals. Offer flexible and intensive rehabilitation sessions up to four times per week for up to 12 weeks. Client Criteria: Diagnosed primary neurological condition (excluding dementia) Aged 18-64 (eligible if accepted before turning 65) Permanent address within Limerick, Clare, or North Tipperary Require intervention in at least two areas: Speech and Language, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Clinical Psychology Medically stable and able to participate in intensive rehabilitation Access to transport and agreement with the referral process Essential Requirements: Degree in Occupational Therapy CORU Registration Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience 2 years experience working with Neurological conditions, frailty, and complex rehabilitation needs. Highly developed physical skills relevant to the clinical area.
