Due to continued growth, U Value Insulation is now recruiting a full-time Qualified Accountant. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller & Finance team, this is a broad hands-on role where your experience and value-add skills should make a strong contribution to the U Value Finance team. The role will focus on our distribution businesses and will include tasks such as the monthly close process and management accounts preparation process, detailed cost analysis including margin analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and assisting in driving timely and accurate data, processes, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts.
2. Detailed margin and cost analysis and variance explanation.
3. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reconciled accurately and on a timely basis.
4. Preparation of annual budgets for all entities, liaising with budget owners to prepare them.
5. Help maintain and improve a robust control environment across the companies regarding areas such as AR / AP, intercompany balances, control account reconciliations, and stock.
6. Maintain and strengthen internal controls.
7. Continually evaluate and optimise monthly close and other finance processes, striving to deliver best practice in process automation, efficiencies, and improved accuracy.
8. Help enhance the control environment to ensure efficient/effective controls are operated.
9. To help manage VAT return workings and submission.
10. Assist with the annual audit process for various legal entities; this will include the preparation of individual management and statutory accounts.
11. Manage the preparation, review, and submission of tax forms and Ixbrl returns for relevant entities.
12. Assist with, or assume responsibility for, other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Qualified accountant with 5+ years’ experience ideally in a similar role.
2. Power BI or similar experience.
3. Be results-driven and have a proactive “can do” attitude.
4. Be able to deal with a large volume of transactions and tight deadlines.
5. Thrive in a busy, challenging, and demanding environment.
6. Ability to find a positive solution while balancing different stakeholder needs.
7. Be open to challenging the status quo (i.e. the current way that things are done).
8. Have strong attention to detail to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
9. Have strong computer and analytical skills; this includes a high level of proficiency in Excel.
10. Be used to working on their own initiative.
11. Experience of Intact XLine or Intact IQ an advantage.
