Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to assist our clients in transitioning to a low carbon energy future.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage and deliver diverse portfolios of projects, primarily in the energy/utilities sector.
* Adapt to changing project and business requirements with strong technical abilities to understand complex information.
* Identify and manage internal and external project stakeholders, ensuring regular communications at all levels.
* Collaborate with customers and stakeholders across project stages.
* Analyse issues, exercise judgment, and drive delivery of large infrastructure projects.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, including risk registers, issue registers, daily logs, project schedules, budgets, and governance approvals.
* Ensure appropriate project controls are in place within the team, considering budgets, schedule, scope, quality risk, and performance indicators.
* Prepare and update formal project progress reports, including financial, budget, and project schedule reporting.
* Report and present on project delivery to senior management teams and board executives.
* Lead and motivate project team members to ensure a sense of team and clear understanding of goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
* 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a construction/energy/engineering background.
* Power system industry expertise, utilities/construction experience, and ability to adapt to changing demands.
* Knowledge of the industry, environment, and context, with experience working within similar regulated utility environments.
* Excellent communication and written skills to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Commercial awareness to make decisions and recommendations in project implementation.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Recognised accredited Project Management Professional (PMP) qualification.
* Recognised qualification in energy efficiency/renewable energy.
* Experience delivering renewable energy projects, either onshore or offshore.
* Understanding of electricity transmission network operation and development.
