Our client is an established specialist in cleanroom construction, HVAC services, heat recovery, and carbon emission reduction projects, as well as general mechanical and electrical services. They service clients in all industry sectors, including Bio Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Electronics, Food & Dairy, and Data Centre/Light Industrial sectors.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Planner will work on one of our client's key projects. The office-based role will also have a sizeable 'on-site' element.
The Project Planner, in tandem with the project team, will be responsible for:
1. Generating a project schedule
2. Monitoring project progress
3. Preparing both weekly and monthly progress reports
Duties:
1. Communicate with the project manager and all project stakeholders to provide any necessary assistance and/or support
2. Review project deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions throughout the duration of the project
3. Preparation of schedules, coordination, and monitoring of assigned project
4. Monitor compliance with applicable codes and practices, in addition to quality assurance and quality control policies
5. Identify items of interest or concern, then establish means and methods of recovery
6. Report both internally and to the client when appropriate
7. Compare the actual cost of development projects to estimates
8. Supervise staff in carrying out plans, programs, and services
9. Travel as necessary to suppliers, conferences, and manufacturing facilities
10. Support the project manager in monitoring and reporting project costs
11. Coordinate with project managers to successfully deliver projects to clients
12. Responsible for the profitable operation of large mechanical projects
Requirements:
1. 3+ years work experience in project planning, ideally in industrial construction or mechanical engineering areas
2. Previous experience working on site-based projects
3. Strong commercial management background and awareness
4. Excellent presentation & IT skills
5. A positive attitude with a passion to succeed, an energetic approach, and an ability to take accountability
6. The ability to contribute comfortably as part of a team
