Requirements
Design and Technical Leadership: The Senior Engineer provides technical expertise and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) elements for the project. They oversee the preparation of design calculations, drawings, and specifications for structures, foundations, and building elements. They ensure that all CSA designs meet the specific requirements of each project type—residential, commercial, or pharmaceutical—while adhering to local building codes and regulations.
Coordination and Integration: They work closely with other engineering disciplines (MEP, fire protection, HVAC, etc.), architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of CSA elements with the overall project design. On pharmaceutical projects, this might include coordinating structural modifications to accommodate cleanrooms or specialized facilities. They are responsible for ensuring that all CSA systems are integrated smoothly with other building systems to avoid conflicts during construction.
Site Supervision and Technical Support: The Senior Engineer provides high-level oversight of the construction process, ensuring that CSA systems are being installed according to design and specification. They also troubleshoot any technical challenges that arise during the construction phase and provide guidance to junior engineers, site managers, and contractors. In pharmaceutical projects, they may need to ensure that structural elements meet stringent regulatory and environmental standards.
Quality Control and Risk Management: Senior Engineers are responsible for ensuring that CSA work is carried out to the highest quality standards. They inspect materials, verify installation practices, and resolve any issues related to structural integrity or compliance. On pharmaceutical projects, this responsibility is particularly critical, as structural elements must meet precise requirements for areas like cleanrooms, laboratories, or production zones where contamination risks are higher.
Stakeholder and Client Engagement: The Senior Engineer acts as a key point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and regulatory bodies. They provide technical reports, address client concerns regarding structural or design issues, and ensure that CSA elements meet the client’s functional and aesthetic needs. On pharmaceutical projects, this might involve ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or industry-specific codes.
