Overview
Hybrid role - 3 to 4 days at home / 1 to 2 days surveying in Greater Dublin area.
Donovan Low Energy has a vacancy for a BER Assessor and Retrofit Technical Advisor. The successful candidate will work on domestic projects providing guidance to our clients and our own project teams on NZEB and retrofit best practice.
The delivery of Nearly Zero Energy Buildings - both new-build and upgrades - is a key element of Ireland's transition to a low-energy, low carbon society and is considered globally a major growth area for the construction sector.
As Retrofit Technical Assessors and Commercial and Domestic BER assessors, and also as a sister company to the SEAI-registered One-Stop-Shop Integrate Home Energy Upgrades, Donovan Low Energy will play a key role in Ireland's NZEB and retrofit revolution. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to become a leader in the deep retrofit / NZEB sector.
Responsibilities
1. Building energy assessment
2. Heat pump technical and feasibility assessments
3. NZEB and Part L compliance checks
4. Airtightness design and testing
5. Ventilation design and testing
6. Pre-works One-Stop-Shop Home Energy Assessments
7. Home Energy Upgrade costing
8. Providing advice and guidance to clients and our own in-house project team
Experience
3 years experience working on construction projects as part of design, project or site teams with exposure to sustainable construction best practice and building energy regulatory compliance (Part L / BER).
Minimum Education
Level 7 degree in architecture, architectural technology, engineering (buildings), sustainable energy engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or building surveying. Registration with the SEAI as a BER Assessor / Technical Advisor is favorable but not essential.
