Title and Summary
As a Senior User Experience Designer - Design Systems in Mastercard, you will thrive at the intersection of design, data, and technology. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the identity and form of the constantly evolving Design System for Mastercard's digital products.
Working across multiple product areas and cross-functional partners, you will drive the strategic implementation of the design system with the goal of ensuring high consistency, scalability, and ease of rapid prototyping while solving the specific user problem at hand.
Occasionally, you will also be able to participate in design thinking workshops for new products and contribute to delivering quality design assets. If you have a passion for creating great user experiences, an understanding of component-based architectures, and a desire to be a part of building a world-class design system – that operates at a global scale – then this role is for you!
Responsibilities
1. Help advance the strategic implementation of Mastercard's Design System using user-centered design methods.
2. Partner with other Design System teams across the organization to drive brand alignment and experience unification across products.
3. Collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand the unique requirements, opportunities, and constraints in the realm of data products.
4. Design responsive, accessible components and modular design patterns while maintaining up-to-date documentation.
5. Work within brand guidelines to ensure components are using the consistent brand language.
6. Develop easy-to-follow design specifications and guidelines for other designers, developers, customers, and development partners/vendors.
7. Create robust processes for contribution, design, audit, handoff, and release to empower our users (other designers, developers, and product managers) to contribute back to the Design System.
8. Be the Design System champion who educates and guides designers, developers, and product teams on adopting the Design System.
About You
1. Passionate about design systems and the value they can deliver on a global scale.
2. Detail-oriented and have a deep understanding of design fundamentals.
3. Values inclusive design and accessibility.
4. Technically-minded, interested in code as the material digital products are made of.
5. Excellent communication and writing skills.
6. Strong experience with Figma, and leading design tools.
7. A portfolio of strong interaction design, design systems, and product design work.
8. Experience with building Design systems and component libraries is essential.
This role is based in Dublin, and therefore all applications must be eligible to live and work in Dublin.
