Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer with a background in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering to join our team. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who is passionate about sustainable development and innovative engineering solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying land banks for acquisition, site usability for industrial development, developing business parks, developing green sites, and building manufacturing to ensure they are more sustainable.
The continued development of strategic property and infrastructure solutions is essential to ensure existing enterprises compete for and win future investments into regional locations. As we move into the next strategy cycle for the Property Department, this will also include the development of the Next Generation of Strategic Site (NGSS) solutions and Sustainability at Scale.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee project design, development, and execution while integrating sustainability and energy efficiency principles.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, environmental consultants, and project managers, to deliver high-quality construction solutions.
* Manage all related activities and transactions including but not limited to strategy development, land assessments, master planning, acquisitions, land swaps, partnerships, and large-scale sustainable infrastructure planning & development.
* Engage with and influence regional and national stakeholders in support of the strategy goals including but not limited to utility & infrastructure providers, government departments, regulators, and local authorities.
* Work closely with the Department Manager, policy and regulatory teams in DETE and DECC, and with industry groups to support the delivery of the Next Generation Strategic Sites Initiative.
* Conduct ongoing reviews & improvements to the portfolio in the context of sustainable development opportunities.
Requirements:
* Level 8 Degree Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
* Strong understanding of engineering principles related to construction, structural design, and sustainability.
* Experience with sustainable construction methodologies and environmental compliance regulations.
* Project Management experience - Track record in strategically managing related projects; competing priorities and work responsibilities within an agreed time, budget, and criteria.
* Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Knowledge of industry standards, sustainability certifications, and green building practices is a plus.
