The Food & Beverage Assistant is an important position working closely with the Bar, Restaurant & Kitchen Teams.

Welcome to The Plaza Hotel Dublin with 122 well-appointed ensuite bedrooms, state of the art conference facilities & excellent cuisine.
Over the last 2 years, the entire interior of the 4-star hotel has been extensively refurbished, now comprising of exciting new eateries. The hotel now offers 122 spacious, comfortable and ensuite bedrooms along with a number of large suites. Two large and naturally lit event spaces, together with 4 meeting suites allow for conferences and events of all sizes, ranging from 5-200 people.
Role Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To provide a warm, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to our guests, ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered and maintained at all times in line with our guest expectations.
Reports to: Operations Manager / Bar Manager / Duty Managers.
Food & Beverage Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests.
2. Ensure that guests are seated and provided with menus promptly.
3. Ensure that all guests’ requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively, delivering exceptional service at all times.
4. Familiarise yourself with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available to answer any questions guests may have.
5. Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
6. Ensure an efficient and safe delivery of all food and beverage orders in line with guest expectations.
7. Set up, clear, and promptly service tables after use to ensure that guests can be seated in a timely manner.
8. Ensure the restaurant areas are clean and well-presented at all times and assist with cleaning duties as required.
9. Deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and reporting any issues to management.
10. Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in line with agreed procedures.
11. Assist in the set up and preparation, and provide service duties for functions as required.
12. Support the kitchen staff as required and in accordance with hygiene and safety regulations.
13. Ensure that all front of house and guest areas are well maintained at all times.
14. Any other duties as directed by the Operations Manager, Duty Manager, Food & Beverage Supervisor or other management team members.
Key Requirements for the role:
1. Experience of working in a similar role and/or environment (preferably in a 4-star setting within the hotel, leisure or hospitality industry).
2. Basic Food Hygiene knowledge (desirable).
3. Accurate and efficient cash handling skills.
4. High standard of personal presentation.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality.
6. Courteous and pleasant attitude towards guests and colleagues.
7. Good attention to detail.
8. Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend and evening work will be required).
9. Proof of eligibility to work in Ireland.
