Speech and Language Therapist
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech & Language Therapist (Staff Grade) to join our multidisciplinary team in the Adult Rehabilitation Unit at St. Ita’s Hospital. The successful candidate will work with adults presenting with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders following stroke, neurological injury, progressive conditions, or complex medical events.

Responsibilities of Speech and Language Therapist
* Provide individualised assessment, diagnosis, and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
* Deliver person-centred therapy plans aimed at improving function, participation, and quality of life.
* Complete bedside and instrumental assessments (e.g., VFS/FEES where applicable or supported).
* Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) goal setting, care planning, and discharge coordination.
* Work closely with families, carers, and staff to support communication and dysphagia strategies.
* Maintain high-quality, timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and legal requirements.
* Contribute to service planning, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Participate in CPD, clinical supervision, and in-service training.
* Provide input into staff education and awareness where required.
Requirements of Speech and Language Therapist
* Recognised degree in Speech & Language Therapy
* Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working with adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties
* Excellent communication, teamworking, and organisational skills
* A flexible, patient-centred, and evidence-informed approach to care
* Dysphagia qualification and experience managing complex swallowing disorders
