Following a review of our frontline governance structures across our residential services, we are delighted to offer this new role in frontline leadership positions. These new positions aim to ensure that all Residential Leaders have a balanced and manageable workload with the capacity to lead teams in delivering a high-quality service to our residents.
The role provides the opportunity for established Residential Leaders with Person in Charge experience who wish to progress in their careers to broaden their experience by taking in Day Services, Respite, and Pre-Schools.
We are seeking applications for the role of Area Leader from experienced and motivated candidates to join our Offaly/Tipperary management team based in our Tullamore offices. The role will support the Area Director in driving the delivery and continuous improvement of quality services in line with the Organisation’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
Person Specification
* Ability to effectively communicate with each individual, their families, other professionals, and people important in the individual’s life.
* A robust knowledge and understanding of HIQA standards and statutory requirements and the responsibilities as a Person In Charge or providing support and mentorship to a Person in Charge.
* IT skills to include day-to-day email, Word, and Excel.
* Support, supervise, and motivate the staff teams.
* Have a key focus in supporting the individuals to be active citizens within their local community.
* Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide mentorship and support to other team members.
* Excellent knowledge of Assisted Decision Making and Advocacy.
* Knowledge of New Directions Interim Standards, HIQA Regulation Standards, Safeguarding, and Protection of Vulnerable Adults.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills for the role:
* At least four years managerial experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism and individuals with a range of support needs, including behaviours of concern.
* Previous experience as a Person in Charge and HIQA Inspections.
* Experience of supporting community integration.
* Experience of leading person-centred planning, risk assessment and planning, care planning.
* Experience of leadership, mentoring, support, and supervision of staff.
Candidate should note that as part of this role they will be required to travel between locations.
