Project Accounting Team Lead
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Accounting Team Lead to join our client, a leading science and research organisation in South Dublin, on a 7-month contract.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Project Accounting Team will be joining the organisation at an exciting time as it undergoes a finance transformation process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure appropriate financial control of project accounts while maintaining compliance with the organisation's policies.
* Oversee the closing of specific accounts for the team.
* Coordinate the team's workflow to ensure all deliverables are completed within strict deadlines.
* Lead the preparation and submission of periodic financial reports.
* Ensure the approval and implementation of amendments to the accounting system related to project accounts, including journal adjustments, budget modifications, and other necessary updates.
* Review journals to ensure the research ledger aligns with cost statements and financial reports.
* Supervise the preparation of audit files and manage external audits, ensuring all required audit reports are delivered on time.
* Review and approve budget checks in accordance with grant agreements.
Key Requirements:
* Fully Qualified Accountant with a minimum of four years post-qualification experience.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Proven experience in team leadership or supervisory roles.
* Previous experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Strong IT skills, particularly in financial systems and reporting tools.
