The Role
As an R&D Analytical Lab Analyst, you'll play a key role in transferring and implementing testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products for new manufacturing lines in Cork.
Duties:
1. Adhere to all company EHS guidelines and procedures with proactive involvement in laboratory safety initiatives.
2. Leverage specialized knowledge and analytical skills to solve complex problems.
3. Report activities & results. Draft and execute validation protocols for new test methods & issue quality reports.
4. Test incoming raw material, in-process and finished product in strict accordance with procedures to support production and shipping deadlines.
5. Raise and coordinate change controls for the introduction of new analytical test methods and equipment.
6. Source, purchase, and qualify new laboratory equipment.
7. Carry out EHS and quality risk assessments of new test methods and equipment.
8. Draft and coordinate approval of new test method SOPs and related documentation.
9. Ensure coordination with project managers, technical lead, and management through good communication.
10. Correctly use and maintain various laboratory equipment.
11. Perform routine checks and calibration of laboratory equipment.
12. Set up all laboratory equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
13. Accurately prepare all solutions required to support testing of product.
14. Train colleagues in the use of laboratory equipment and procedures in the Analytical Services laboratories.
15. Perform laboratory validation and non-routine testing.
16. Provide technical backup and support to production as required, including project work, e.g., non-routine lab testing to support process validations, quality improvement efforts, and customer complaints.
17. Archive laboratory data, logbooks, and samples in accordance with procedures.
18. Control, issue, and maintain laboratory documentation.
19. Update, draft, and review quality documentation such as test methods and standard operating procedures.
20. Participate in identified Continuous Improvement initiatives; cost, quality, etc.
21. Maintain laboratory inventory levels.
22. Perform other related quality duties as required.

* B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent.
