Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Meat Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent quality products and services.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
1. Craft butchery course is desirable
2. Numerical skills
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Previous customer service experience is an advantage
5. The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, ability to multi-task under pressure
6. A passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers
7. HACCP training is beneficial but not essential.
Main duties:
1. Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e. Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative
2. Maintain retail cuts at a high standard in accordance with customer needs
3. Drive sales through ensuring SOPs and store standards are met on a daily basis
4. Merchandise and present department to the highest standard
5. Implement planograms correctly
6. Control stock rotation so that quality and freshness of goods is of the highest standard
7. Manage waste and shrink in the department
8. Ensure continuous improvement in the Meat Department by remaining up to date with new products and initiatives
9. Enhance product knowledge by gaining information from a range of sources and share ideas, suggestions and builds
10. Engage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of working.
About the locality:
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Butcher instore. Experience in a similar role/similar background is beneficial. Knowledge of HACCP & SOP's, Food safety & relevant training is required. Candidates must be available to commence ASAP and must be available to work flexible hours. Reliably commute or plan to relocate to our store before commencing employment, Location: Barna, Galway H91F8XT.
