The department focuses on:Oversight of portfolio management ensuring the proper application of investment processes;Working in partnership with the broader investment business to provide an independent assessment of the investment process and its outcomes;Review, summarise and prioritise key issues for reporting and/or escalation to key stakeholders, committees and boards.About The RoleThe Head of Regulatory Oversight (PCF-30) will lead abrdn Investment Ireland Limited’s (aIIL) Investment Oversight function in addition to acting as the functional lead/head of the Investment Oversight function for abrdn’s Luxembourg legal entity (abrdn Investments Luxembourg SA, ‘aILSA’). The successful candidate will hold the regulatory title of PCF-30 and report into the Head of Europe in this capacity.As head of this function, you will get the opportunity to be responsible for the oversight of end-to-end investment processes of investment activities across Europe; directly responsible for aIIL’s delegates and its branches and will oversee the function responsible for aILSA’s delegate activity relating to investments - collectively, the Regulatory Oversight team.Key ResponsibilitiesDirectly lead the local CIO function for aIIL to ensure it is meeting its fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities with respect to the provision of investment services.Lead the broader Regulatory Oversight function and responsible for the ongoing development of the function.Represent the regulatory oversight function at group level, attending the necessary internal committees/fora and represent the EMEA regulatory stance at these committees/fora from an investment perspective.Design and lead the technical and regulatory oversight framework to oversee investment activity across a broad range of asset classes and investment structures.Develop and maintain an internal network with various senior management within the investments business, acting as the key relationship for the regulated entities.About The Candidate RequirementsKnowledge of financial markets and investment management gained through investment and/or risk-based roles.Measured and sensible approach when dealing with various stakeholders including senior investment professionals and leadership.A good sense of integrity and a demonstrable approach to discretion recognising that they may periodically be in receipt of sensitive information.Experience in delivering technical projects. Prior experience in leading projects for the delivery of analytics and working with large data-sets an advantage.Stakeholder management at different levels.
