At the head of all activity spheres in his sector, the Area Manager is a mentor to the operations supervisors, enabling them to serve customers and improve operational performance, surpassing the objectives of the strategic operations plan. He is primarily responsible for the daily management system health of his sector.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, he will optimize operational performance across all shifts, based on proven and established operational standards of his sector. By leading by example, he will become the coach and mentor of the supervisors, enabling them to improve key performance indicators (KPI), ensuring the development and adherence to a strong culture in OHS, good manufacturing practices, and HACCP.
Main Responsibilities
* Transforming strategy into results
* Analyzing performance indicators and prioritizing continuous improvement actions
* Coaching supervisors in each step of the management and talent development process
* Leading and directing the performance committee, encouraging participation and engagement
* Ensuring each improvement solution is captured in a daily management system
* Conducting daily operations reviews (DOR) with his team and the Plant Manager to plan activities, solve or escalate unresolved issues, and communicate important information
* Standardizing and planning the number of employees needed for proper operation execution
* Ensuring "over-communication" between work teams and other departments
* Evaluating and ensuring employee skill development through personalized coaching
* Training new employees on safe working methods and GMP

Knowledge and skills sought
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering, or any other relevant education
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar position
* Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, to communicate easily with our other two plants in Florida and British Columbia and ensure smooth communication with our plant employees
* Experience in the agri-food industry and the manufacturing sector
* Ability to work in a cold and humid environment (3°C)
* Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GFSI)
* Possess a mobilizing leadership
* Be a good communicator (oral and written)
