Job Title: Head of IT Business Partnering

Job Summary:
The Head of IT Business Partnering is responsible for bridging the gap between IT and business functions, ensuring that technology initiatives align with the organization’s strategic objectives. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively collaborate with business leaders, understand their needs, and translate them into IT solutions that drive business value. The Head of IT Business Partnering will oversee a team of IT Business Partners, guiding them to deliver exceptional service and foster strong relationships across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic IT Alignment:
1. Work closely with business leaders to understand their goals, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring IT strategies align with business objectives.
2. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the organisation’s business processes and how they can be supported or improved by technology.
3. Lead the development of IT roadmaps that support the business strategy and drive digital transformation initiatives.
2. Relationship Management:
1. Act as the primary liaison between IT and business units, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on technology matters.
3. Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise between IT and business teams, ensuring a positive and productive partnership.
3. Demand Management and Prioritisation:
1. Manage the intake and prioritisation of IT requests from business units, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and resource availability.
2. Facilitate discussions between IT and business leaders to prioritize projects and initiatives based on their potential impact and alignment with business objectives.
3. Ensure that IT resources are allocated effectively to meet the highest-priority business needs.
4. Project Oversight and Delivery:
1. Oversee the delivery of IT projects that support business objectives, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to IT Business Partners, ensuring they effectively manage project delivery and stakeholder expectations.
3. Monitor project performance, addressing any issues that may arise and ensuring successful outcomes.
5. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
1. Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and digital solutions to enhance business processes and create competitive advantages.
2. Promote a culture of innovation within the IT Business Partnering team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches.
3. Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery, ensuring that business units receive high-quality, responsive support.
6. Team Leadership and Development:
1. Lead, mentor, and develop the IT Business Partnering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
2. Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team, providing regular feedback and support to ensure high levels of performance.
3. Identify and address skill gaps within the team, providing training and development opportunities to enhance capabilities.
7. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
1. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the status of IT initiatives, business partnering activities, and emerging technology trends.
2. Communicate the value of IT investments and initiatives to business stakeholders, ensuring they understand the benefits and outcomes.
3. Collaborate with other IT leaders to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to technology management across the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
2. Experience:
1. 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a business partnering or similar role.
2. Proven experience in leading IT initiatives that support business objectives and drive value.
3. Strong background in project management, stakeholder engagement, and IT service delivery.
