We’re looking for a Head of Brand and Marketing to join our team. As Head of Brand and Marketing, you will be responsible for promoting the work and services of the Irish Cancer Society and maintaining our brand positioning.

What you’ll do
Strategy
1. Manage the operations of the day-to-day activities of the digital and design teams.
2. Maintain the Irish Cancer Society brand positioning and ensure consistent use of materials and tone of voice across all platforms.
3. Manage and brief agencies to ensure media and creative spend is optimized and in the best interests of the organization.
4. Work with the Fundraising team to ensure all fundraising marketing activity is measurable and impactful, delivering regular updates for board and senior management on the ROI of each campaign.
5. Work in partnership with other departments to ensure the Irish Cancer Society remains a top-of-mind health charity.
6. Stay up to date on marketing trends to best deliver on the Irish Cancer Society's overall mission.
7. Lead the research, creation, and production of all major Irish Cancer Society marketing campaigns, ensuring they are managed efficiently, on target, and within budget.
8. Oversee policies and procedures for the effective running of the Society's digital channels, including the Irish Cancer Society website and social media channels.
9. Lead the Society’s in-house design resource to ensure effective management of resources and high standards of outputs while delivering cost efficiencies.
10. Collaborate closely with the communications team to manage the output of Irish Cancer Society messaging across all channels.
11. Drive and measure the Society’s audience engagement and key brand metrics.
12. Deliver an updated digital fundraising strategy.
Content and editorial oversight
1. Ensure the planning, delivery, and day-to-day maintenance of high-quality, accurate, and up-to-date content for the Irish Cancer Society.
2. Ensure consistency of style in the Society’s online presence and all communications.
3. Oversee all digital content published using the Drupal Content Management System and other platforms.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date content across all Irish Cancer Society web presences.
5. Assist with the planning of new content in conjunction with stakeholders.
6. Ensure web pages are authored with a high regard for Search Engine Optimization and visibility, producing clear, engaging, and innovative content that adheres to best online practices.
7. Create and oversee the content production process and schedule for publishing across the organization.
8. Work closely with the Education and Engagement Team to improve, update, and innovate the Society’s cancer information.
9. Collaborate with other departments to help them produce and maintain both online and print content.
10. Manage external vendors related to website design, campaigns, content, marketing materials, and media buying.
11. Manage third-party tools associated with audience engagement and social media.
12. Source, coordinate, and supervise external producers for commissioned content.

6. You have experience managing departmental budgets and media buying.
Your qualifications and experience
1. Educated to degree level in Computer Science, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
2. Proven experience of creative and technical skills through a portfolio of work.
3. Strong experience in journalism, copywriting, or related writing experience.
4. Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices in usability.
5. Strong understanding of search engines and optimizing content for them.
6. Some knowledge of HTML, CSS, and how websites work.
7. Experience in directly editing and publishing online content using Drupal or similar CMS.
8. Experience working on websites of more than 1,000 pages.
9. Experience in content creation for social media.
10. Proficient in website maintenance activities, particularly publishing using a CMS and QA.
11. Highly skilled in MS Office applications.
12. Qualifications in marketing, journalism, multimedia, web management, or social media.
13. Experience with Google Analytics, information architecture, and user testing.
14. Experience with multimedia content including video and photos.
15. Experience with data protection and privacy laws and best practices.
16. Experience in email newsletter creation.
