In house Conveyancing Solicitor | Public Sector At Staffline Recruitment we are working on behalf of a prominent Public Sector body who are seeking to recruit an experienced conveyancing solicitor to join their legal team. This permanent position will be based in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a large caseload of property transactions efficiently, accurately and in compliance with internal procedures and relevant legislation. This role requires a knowledgeable and approachable self-starter who can provide legal advice and support to property executives in structuring transactions and in relation to a wide range of queries. Key responsibilities will include: Efficiently manage a large case load of property transactions from initial instruction to completion including acquisitions, freehold and leasehold sales, occupational leases, options, easements, and licences. To provide comprehensive and commercially relevant legal advice and support to the Property Team as required. To guide the Property Team in the negotiation and formulation of property transactions at heads of terms stage. To work on and assist with the resolution of property related debt and legally pursue where necessary. To identify and resolve mapping and title discrepancies and draft deeds of rectification as required. To assist with the preparation of responses to internal/external Property Audit queries, Freedom of Information Act requests and Parliamentary Questions. To assist with all queries both internal and external relating to the existing property portfolio and previously completed legal cases, sourcing and reviewing documentation where necessary. To assist in the management of all property related insurance claims in conjunction with the insurance broker. To advise on and assist in the resolution of public procurement queries as they arise for the Property Team. To monitor legislative developments to ensure the Property Team are kept abreast of new legislation, directives and guidance notes relevant to the management of the property portfolio. To obtain VAT advice on property transactions in a timely manner as required. To utilise technology effectively in order to manage the property business in the most effective and efficient manner. To demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional tasks that can arise or are assigned to this role. Interested applicants will meet the following requirements: A qualified solicitor with a minimum of two years post qualification conveyancing experience. Ability to work well under pressure, independently and on own initiative. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. A full driving licence is essential. Ongoing flexibility and interest in international career progression and development is required.
