Reporting to the Associate Director Automation Systems, the Building Automation System Engineer will support the Building Automation System (BAS) and other Utility Automation Systems as required. The BAS Engineer works closely with other resources such as operations, HVAC engineers, Utility engineers, electrical team, and projects team. The BAS engineer also works with other internal resources and external engineers to maintain sustaining operation of the BAS and also deliver upgrade projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting Building Automation System (BAS) (Siemens DesigoCC) and other Utility Automation Control systems.
* Support upgrade projects.
* Provide troubleshooting and hands-on support to resolve technical issues.
* Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
* Ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
* Creating and carrying out test procedures and automation change controls.
* Liaising with installation/project engineers.
* Supervising engineering, vendors, and technical staff.
* Writing reports and documentation.
* Writing work instructions.
* Ensuring safe working conditions.
* Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.
* Attend Software Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Testing.
* Maintaining and developing change control systems.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, or a related engineering field or its equivalent.
* At least 5 years experience providing Building Automation / Building Management system solutions and support to manufacturing organisations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or similar is required.
* Experience during project delivery and operations support.
* Experience working with Air Handling Units (AHU) / HVAC and other critical utility systems such as cooling towers and compressors.
* Experience with Siemens DesigoCC and Siemens Xworks.
* The candidate will have demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels, coupled with excellent organisation and planning skills.
* Experience of interfacing equipment with Siemens PXC controllers using modbus would be an advantage.
