Position Description
Technical Training Officers – Electrical Craft & Overhead Lines Construction
Permanent Positions & Temporary 24 Month Positions Available
A Networks Training Officer provides a variety of training and development services to the Networks business including the design, construction, maintenance, operations and commissioning of Networks assets at all voltage levels and the apprentice programme in various ESB Networks locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivering Electrical Training to apprentices and Network Technicians.
2. Supporting the delivery of a Training Centre of Excellence to inspire Safety and Quality standards in the business.
3. Carrying out training needs analysis and recommending best practice solutions.
4. Designing and delivering training solutions within agreed timeframes to Networks quality standard.
5. Assisting in the development of work procedures and methods.
6. Improving and modifying training courses using customer feedback.
7. Duties necessary for the effective administration of a modern training business.
8. Assisting ESB Networks attain its objectives in relation to its high level of Safety standards required.
Experience and Qualifications
1. 3+ years relevant work experience is essential.
2. High level of Technical Competence.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. A full clean EU driving licence - Travel is a feature of the role.
5. Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate or a suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content (required for electrical craft roles).
6. Training Delivery Experience.
7. Power Network Operations Experience.
8. Train the Trainer Qualification.
9. Knowledge of the Networks Business.
10. Knowledge of ESB’s Corporate IT systems.
Location
Travel is a feature of this role.
Reporting to
The Training Delivery Manager in NTC.

Salary between €47,100 and €67,000 per annum.
