Senior Process Engineer Role Overview
The Senior Process Engineer will provide technical problem-solving support to the operations team, focusing on delivering solutions to key process problems through analysis, lean techniques, and capital investment aligned to business objectives and plans.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and lead process improvements to increase plant efficiencies and drive process excellence.
* Lead and support production trials, process modifications, investigation studies, etc., in the development of new products.
* Manage Graduate Engineer program.
* Coach and mentor operational teams to help advance their technical knowledge.
* Undertake, manage, and report on specific improvement projects.
* Coordinate Lean activities on site.
* Develop and promote solution-based protocols arising from manufacturing issues.
* Support maintenance teams to help develop their performance and knowledge base.
* Provide technical support to large projects and major equipment upgrades.
* Innovate to take advantage of technological advances in process technologies and propose disruptive projects in this space.
* Support the Operation Excellence program using lean tools and techniques.
* Ensure operational compliance with relevant standards and certifications, FSC procedures, EPA, and IPPC License, Safety and SOPs.
Qualification and Experience:
* BSc Degree in a relevant Engineering/Science discipline, including Chemical/Mechanical/Manufacturing.
* Green/Black Belt Lean certification.
* 3+ years' relevant experience in a process role or project environment.
* Experience of technical management in a process or project environment.
* Experience in Lean tools and techniques.
Key Skills:
* Knowledge of steam, heavy rotating plant, and utilities.
* Rapid problem-solving ability for a 24/7 business environment.
* Strong planning, numeracy, analytical, and PC skills.
* High energy and commitment to best practice and continuous improvement.
* Awareness of SOPs, Safety Legislation, and relevant Codes of Practice.
* Understanding and experience in the use of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
