About the Role
We are seeking an Informatics Nurse Trainer on a 3-year fixed-term contract to work 18.5 hours per week. As a key member of the Nursing and IT teams, the post holder will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, quality patient care initiatives, and facilitate effective interpersonal communication with colleagues in the unit(s) and hospital. They serve as a bridge between service providers, nursing, other clinic departments, and organizational groups, linking clinical practice, technology, and information management to enhance patient care. The Informatics Nurse Trainer provides ongoing training and support for all clinical staff at Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Develop education and training systems and policies for MEDITECH system users.
* Develop educational and induction programmes for clinical IT systems for all clinical staff.
* Assist in the design and IT systems development in compliance with JCI accreditation.
* Conduct IT skills gap analyses.
* Conduct role-specific training on tools and programmes teams use daily.
* Train new employees on the proper use of approved hospital hardware and software.
* Perform regular hospital-wide trainings on system security.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of all educational sessions, making improvements or changes based on feedback.
* Maintain updated records of training curriculum and materials.
* In conjunction with project lead, facilitate the training and installation of planned new EHR.
* Act as the primary contact for clients throughout the implementation process.
* Multi-task and communicate with staff members across multiple MEDITECH applications.
Essential Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
* Have IT experience in the use of MEDITECH and/or other clinical systems.
* Have acquired a level 8 post-registration Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic award or be willing to complete this within one year of taking up the post.
