Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team in Carrigtwohill. This is an 18-month Fixed Term Contract with an option to extend. The position reports to the Operations Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and guidance on Reliability Engineering and Asset Management. They will drive a culture of continuous improvement and reliability excellence through the Maintenance Excellence Programme (MEP), supporting maintenance management in achieving its objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Technical expert / SME on reliability engineering on site.
* Responsible for reliability standards within the department (equipment, processes, systems, and utilities).
* Ensure reliability standards are in line with standards set by the company and industry standards.
* Facilitate and lead the MEP RCM & RCA program on site; using Lean Tools to identify the root cause of problems and implement effective actions to ensure non-recurrence.
* Lead and participate in Kaizen events. Own Kaizen improvements: implement actions identified and ensure changes are sustained.
* Consult with key stakeholders and customers on a day-to-day basis to drive the program and eliminate issues impacting the business or supply chain.
* Develop and implement in consultation with stakeholders’ proposals / business cases for technical improvement projects using DMAIC model or similar methodology.
* Improve maintenance systems and identification of technical / financial improvement opportunities.
* Use a scientific data-based approach and set data baselines and use further data analysis to show demonstrated improvements are realized.
* Partner with operations and Lean Six Sigma experts to deliver an integrated maintenance reliability excellence program.
* Ensure reliability & maintenance budgets are met through the reliability program.
* Ensure reliability & improvement projects are included in the capital project plan.
* Deliver reliability projects within budget.
* Ensure the reliability program meets the requirements of the Global MEP Program.
* Lead the energy management program to drive energy & sustainability improvements, reducing our carbon footprint and baseline energy costs.
* Develop and manage an asset lifecycle program, covering key data sets, monitoring, business continuity, and capital reinvestment.
* Actively work with the Maintenance & Projects Team to ensure the MEP Program and site are QA & EHSE Compliant and Audit ready.
* Complete training OTIF as assigned through the site Isotrain System.
* Carry out other duties/tasks/projects/instructions as directed by the department lead.
Qualifications
* Relevant third level Engineering qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
* LSS Certification is desirable.
* 5-10 years’ experience in a medium-size manufacturing environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
