The project:
The role is within the chief infrastructure office of a semi-state organisation in Ireland. The role holder will prepare and issue strategic projects to new and existing customers connecting directly to the transmission system and to the distribution system operator for those connecting indirectly to the transmission system via the distribution system. Key to success in this role is collaboration, working with industry and teams across client to drive out appropriate solutions to a range of complex technical and commercial issues.
The commissioning manager will play a key role in the network delivery team, forming part of the core team and will report to the programme controls lead. The commissioning manager must possess demonstrable experience in undertaking similar role(s) on high-value and complex programmes, preferably in the transmission and energy generation sectors. It is expected that the candidate will be educated to degree level in an engineering or construction industry discipline. Strong analytical & IT skills, particularly MS Office Suite, including Power BI is desirable.
Responsibilities:
1. Promote Mace's value of Safety First, exhibiting visible safety behaviours and sharing lessons learned.
2. Possess technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
3. Promote a diverse and inclusive working environment, ensuring the wellbeing of team members.
4. Manage delivery from project inception through design development and planning to construction phase.
5. Manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of the Associate Director and other senior leaders.
6. Engage with internal stakeholders and the commissioning team to execute projects in target areas.
7. Perform SAP (Senior Authorised Person) duties, including HV switching and isolations on live networks.
8. Identify and coordinate training needs for team members.
9. Support on-site commissioning efforts in the execution of projects.
10. Manage project milestones, deadlines, and overall programme.
11. Plan and coordinate vendor FAT/SAT, with possible on-site attendance.
12. Participate in and contribute to daily/weekly project meetings.
13. Oversee the delivery, review, and approval of key project documents.
You’ll need to have:
1. High Voltage commissioning experience is essential.
2. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Goal-oriented with strong people skills.
