ABOUT SHINE
Shine is proud to be the only national mental health organisation specifically founded to support all family members. Since its establishment in 1979, Shine has worked tirelessly to shape better policies and services for all those affected by mental health challenges. It supports individuals and groups to enhance their recovery, challenge negative attitudes and behaviours and deliver a variety of programmes and services.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Shine has recently developed a new fundraising strategy and is now seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Fundraising & Volunteer Lead to join their collaborative and supportive team. The successful candidate will lead fundraising at the organisation and will therefore possess the experience and skills to enable Shine to develop a myriad of fundraising streams including trusts, corporates, community events, and individual giving.
The Fundraising & Volunteer Lead will demonstrate the benefits of more planned and structured fundraising and will be ambitious to build the team in future years. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who is looking to take the next step in developing their career in fundraising or for a more seasoned fundraising professional who is looking for the flexibility that a part-time role can offer.
While a background in fundraising is preferable, we would consider applicants without not-for-profit sector experience, from sales, business development or account management backgrounds for example, but they must be genuinely motivated to work in the not-for-profit sector and aware of the differences in demands and resources compared to the private sector.
Above all, this role requires an individual with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to connect with people to build long-term relationships with a wide range of potential donors. Ideally, they will also have previous experience in recruiting, motivating and managing volunteers in a community or charity setting.
If you're an ambitious fundraiser with a passion for Shine’s mission, strong communications and influencing skills, and previous experience in stakeholder engagement and volunteer management, we'd love to hear from you!
