Gormanston Park (www.gormanstonpark.ie) is seeking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to play a key role in delivering new business and enhancing existing business lines to provide first class facilities and services to our clients.
The Role
Reporting to our General Manager, the Business Development Manager will assist with the preparation of, and manage the execution of, a plan to secure new and develop existing business in our key service areas consistent with targets set out in our Strategic plan.
As part of their role, we would expect the successful candidate to:
1. Identify new business opportunities through research, networking and cold calling
2. Attend trade shows and present products/services
3. Build and nurture client relationships
4. Strategically manage your time and deadlines to ensure targets are met
5. Ensure all meetings and client interactions/sales calls are logged
6. Create and deliver weekly/monthly reports to the Board of Directors
7. Assist in the onboarding of new clients
8. Liaise with Marketing for up-to-date website content
9. Participate in pricing the service
10. Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
11. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop Gormanston Park’s USP
12. Forecast sales targets and ensure they are achieved
13. Be willing to undertake any other duties commensurate with the post
The Person
We are looking for someone who:
1. Is a business (or related discipline) graduate with a track record of business development in Ireland, desirably within Tourism, Sporting or Leisure Services sectors
2. Is highly motivated and target driven
3. Has excellent organizational and time management skills
4. Has experience with social media management
Essential Requirements:
1. Track record of achievement in business development
2. Demonstrable ability in presenting to high level corporate enterprise directors and senior board members
3. Has a natural sales flair and experience in cold calling new business
4. Ability to build rapport with senior managers, directors and high level decision makers
5. Strong negotiation skills
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Strong work ethic with a desire to progress
8. Commercially astute
9. Innovative and creative
10. Ability to work well as part of a team
11. Excellent IT skills
12. Clean Driving Licence
