Academic and Social Engagement Coordinator Grade VII (Kerry Campus)
This part-time fixed-term contract position is for 28 hours per week, initially until June 2026. The role will be filled based on the requirements of the Technological Universities Act 2018.
Objective:
The pilot project aims to enhance course provision for students with intellectual disabilities at MTU from January 2025 to June 2026. This project will support future evidence-informed policy considerations regarding the successful participation of students with intellectual disabilities in higher education.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in disciplines such as Education, Communications, Social Sciences, Social Care, Humanities, Law, Human Rights, Advocacy, or Community Development.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Competent digital/ICT skills.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills.
* Project work, review, and evaluation skills.
* Interest in enhancing educational experiences for all.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the programme team in implementing individual student support plans where needed.
* Drive a culture of independence and graduate readiness for students.
* Develop students' self-advocacy and independence skills.
* Sometimes assist in assessment support for students with learning needs.
* Ensure confidentiality in matters related to students, their families, and staff.
* Contribute to staff development.
* Liaise with student family and agency staff with permission where relevant.
Terms of Appointment:
This role is part-time, with a maximum of 28 hours per week. The contract is initially fixed-term until June 2026.
Annual leave entitlement will be adjusted according to working hours.
Salary:
€58,252 - €75,729 (full-time salary pro-rated)
