Electrical Public Lighting Manager - Consultancy - Kilkenny
Employment Type: 12 - 24 month contract
Work Location: Office / Site / Hybrid
Pay: Contract Hourly Rates / Salary - Negotiable based on experience €55k - €75k

Our client is a leading global provider of consulting and engineering services.
An Electrical Public Lighting Manager is required to work as a key member of our Public Lighting (PL) Project in Kilkenny and throughout several counties in Leinster. The role would be for a period of approximately 12+ months during the construction stage.
The key duties and responsibilities include:
1. Assessing & recommending the Authorisation and Appointment of a competent Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor to the Responsible Manager.
2. Assessing & recommending Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor Electricians to the Responsible Manager for the issuing of PL Live Work Approvals.
3. Ensuring the implementation of the live working Policy Document and associated reference documents.
4. Ensuring the Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor’s implementation of the ‘ESB Requirements for Work on Public Lighting on ESB’s Networks’ document.
5. Ensuring an effective Safety Management System is in place.
6. Undertaking and monitoring the auditing of the Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor to ensure compliance with ‘ESB Requirements for Work on Public Lighting on ESB’s Networks’ document.
7. Ensuring the Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor communicates with the local ESB System Manager, acting as the LA contact person for all public lighting issues with ESB, and reporting any Dangerous Occurrences to the local ESB System Manager.
8. Maintaining an up-to-date list of Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor personnel & their approval details.
9. Maintenance & Ownership of the live working Policy Document.
10. Monitoring and reviewing processes and recommendations arising from feedback from End Users and incidents.
11. Promoting the safe use of Live work.
12. Acting independently from delivery constraints.
13. Liaising with the ESBN Live Working Manager to receive expert advice and support.
14. Liaising with the ESBN Live Working Manager to be made aware of industry trends.
15. Carrying out quarterly audits of the Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor’s Electricians with the objective of achieving 2 audits per annum on electricians engaging in Live Works on ESB Networks to monitor and ensure compliance with ESB requirements.
16. Monitoring Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor’s weekly work plans.
17. Near miss and accident reporting.
18. Setting up and maintaining registers for:
1. Live Work Approvals
2. Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor’s Training records
3. Public Lighting Retrofit Contractor’s specific live work tasks and performance
4. ESB Notifications
5. ESB Response times (to ensure they are in line with the contract and subsequent ESB invoices)
19. Assisting project team with UMR database records.
20. Assisting project team with test and inspection plans.
21. Attending project supervisors’ weekly meetings.
22. Completing relevant sections of the project supervisors' weekly report.
23. Attending progress, design and client site team meetings.
24. Attending contractor toolbox talks.
25. Complying with Client & our client's systems.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Civil or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Level 7+ desirable). Trade qualified electrician.
Extensive experience acting in a similar role or involved in public lighting / electrical systems works.
Experience of liaising / interfacing / coordinating with ESBN.
Package:
2 year fixed term on contract hourly rates or Salary depending on experience.
Longer tenure for the right candidate to work with an International EPCM.
