Job Description
Reporting to the Business Health & Safety Manager, this role offers a passionate individual the opportunity to develop a career with a leading Irish organisation.
The key objective is to engage and focus the site on health and safety, protecting people and those affected by our activities from harm.
Responsibilities
* Implement, improve and enhance the site's safety management system.
* Support Managers in ensuring legislative compliance and improving health and safety within the business.
* Conduct and attend regular meetings with plant managers and supervisors.
* Support Managers in performing risk assessments and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements.
* Implement Arrabawn's leading indicator programme, including reporting good saves, completion of safety audits and inspections, and safety conversations.
* Evaluate all accidents and near misses, ensuring thorough reporting and investigation.
* Review, develop, and implement health and safety procedures, policies, work instructions, checklists, and other documentation as required.
* Identify training needs and assist in managing training records.
* Liaise with external consultants, coordinating as needed.
* Cultivate positive health & safety practices among employees.
* Participate in emergency plans and fire drills.
* Support the Contractor Management System.
* Prepare health and safety reports for the business.
* Monitor and populate Health & Safety Metrics for the business.
* Attend monthly safety committee meetings and record meeting minutes for each division.
* Coordinate and order health and safety-related materials, including signage, PPE, first aid supplies, chemical spill kits, and Dipotherne.
* Perform other duties as necessary, aligned with business needs.
Key Requirements
* Relevant third-level Certificate qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
* Experience working in manufacturing or food production is desirable.
* Thorough knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
* Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
* Strong computer literacy, with experience in online management systems preferred.
* Ability to work independently, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Highly organised, motivated, and driven.
* Train the Trainer, Manual Handling, or Instructor qualifications are desirable but not essential.
