Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team.
Job Description
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical and instrumentation systems within the facility.
This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems commonly found in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Your Responsibilities:
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
* Calibrate and maintain instrumentation devices such as temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, and analytical instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineers to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other designated tools.
* Participate in training programs to develop and maintain technical skills and knowledge of new technologies relevant to electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
* Responds to corrective breakdown work and troubleshoots root cause analysis with Manufacturing.
* Schedule, complete, and assign Work Orders in a timely manner.
This role will provide exposure to a wide range of expertise relating to pharmaceutical, life sciences, construction, and other sectors.
Skills and Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Time served in an engineering technical degree or diploma, or Solas advanced craft certification to level 6, or equivalent.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in a biopharmaceutical or similar regulated industry.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical codes (NEC, IEC).
* Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits and control systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Experience with instrumentation calibration, configuration, and troubleshooting, including familiarity with industry standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.
* Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
* Computer Literacy.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
