Our IT Operations team are looking for the right teammate to support the start-up of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will play a key role in providing technical support to our employees as well as administering and managing IT inventory on-site.
Where you come in:
1. You will provide day-to-day technical support to employees and VIPs in support of their computing environment.
2. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, workstations, related peripherals, and network connectivity.
3. You will maintain passwords, data integrity and file system security for the end-user computing environment.
4. You will recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
5. You will contribute technical and procedural knowledge to the Knowledge Base.
6. You will participate in information technology projects.
7. You will provide provide support to the Service Desk Team including feedback and process improvement.
8. You will function as an escalation point for incoming incidents, problems, or requests.
9. You will communicate highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
10. You will draft, review, improve, and approve documentation and Knowledge Base articles relevant to the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of desktop systems.
11. You will administer and manage all IT inventory. You will also maintain accurate IT asset inventory and assists in the acquisition, deployment, and support of IT assets.
12. You will install, configure, and deploy desktop systems, workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and copiers to support and improve the end-user environment.
13. You will maintain user accounts, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment following company processes.
14. You will participate in hardware and software solutions decision making process, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
15. You have experience of providing end-user support in person, via chat, with remote support tools, and by telephone.
16. You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.
What makes you successful:
17. Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.
18. You are capable of succinctly communicating highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
19. You have experience of drafting, reviewing, improving, and approving documentation and Knowledge Base articles relevant to the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of desktop systems.
20. You have strong initiative, follow through, and excellent project management skills.
21. You are familiar with and have experience of adhering to Change Control Processes and Procedures.
22. You have experience of communicating and documenting system failures, repairs, installations, or changes.
23. You have experience of ensuring compliance with policies and procedures pertaining to Sarbanes-Oxley, FDA, HIPAA and PCI regulations and standards.
