Design Engineer I
Responsible for designing, developing, and verifying complex medical and diagnostic devices with a focus on injection moulded components.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivers design, development, and verification of complex assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and packaging as assigned.
* Creates product designs and CAD models using SolidWorks, including generating design concepts, proposals, and presentations.
* Participates in defining product requirements into product specifications.
* Manufactures and assembles prototypes.
* Evaluates product specifications through engineering studies and proof of concept testing.
* Selects materials and reviews their suitability.
* Develops and implements changes to existing products to improve performance, quality, and cost.
* Contributes to product and manufacturing risk assessments/analyses.
* Analyses data and investigates failures to determine causes and develop solutions.
* Applies a structured approach to deliverables involving key stakeholders, communicating effectively both internally and externally.
* Participates in technical meetings and presentations with internal and external customers.
* Stays informed about current innovations by researching new technologies or development tools.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
* Master's degree or at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
* Competency in CAD modelling (preferably SolidWorks/Creo).
* Understanding/knowledge of 2D drawings, GD&T, FEA analysis desirable.
* Knowledge of engineering theories, design principles, and practices, as well as design evaluation techniques.
* Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements for medical devices, including ISO13485.
