Supply Chain Manager Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead the procurement operations within our food manufacturing business. This role involves strategic planning and analysis to ensure a consistent supply of raw materials for production.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and Execute Purchasing Strategy: Create and implement an effective purchasing strategy that aligns with business objectives.
* Sourcing High-Quality Raw Materials: Source high-quality, sustainable raw materials at competitive prices that meet customer expectations.
* Negotiate Contracts and Maintain Relationships: Negotiate contracts with suppliers and maintain strong relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality products.
* Collaborate with Quality and Technical Teams: Work closely with the Quality and Technical Manager on supplier and material evaluation to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
* Oversee Purchase Orders and Goods Intake: Oversee purchase orders and goods intake procedures to ensure smooth receipt and storage of raw materials.
* Plan Materials for Manufacturing: Plan materials for manufacturing while considering customer demand, warehouse capacity, lead times, and stock levels.
* Identify and Resolve Issues: Identify and resolve issues related to quality and material delays to minimize disruptions to production.
* Establish Efficient Processes: Establish efficient processes and controls within the procurement function to optimize supply chain efficiency.
* Enhance IT Systems: Enhance IT systems to optimize supply chain efficiency and improve data analysis capabilities.
* Drive Improvements in Supply Chain Performance: Drive improvements in supply chain performance by adopting new technologies and staying informed on industry trends.
* Foster a Culture of Compliance and Innovation: Foster a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and innovation within the procurement team.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement (preferred).
* Supervisory or Management Experience: Supervisory or management experience is required.
* Exceptional Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
