My client is a leading retail accountancy and consulting firm in Ireland.
Due to significant business growth, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their business in Co. Cork (conveniently located between Cork city and Killarney), to liaise with clients and manage a team of Accountants and trainee Accountants.
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior accounting professional to advance their career within a highly successful and innovative business.
The Role:
* Preparation and review of Management Accounts with strong emphasis on investigating gross margin variances and forming an action plan to enhance margin and reduce costs.
* Evaluate and implement effective internal controls.
* Working capital management.
* Providing full financial control services to clients.
* Managing a team.
The Person:
* Qualified accountant with over 5 years post-qualified experience.
* Proficient in all aspects of accounts preparation.
* Comfortable in dealing with clients, presenting financial analysis to them, and suggesting operational and financial improvements.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Competent IT skills.
* Ability to train and supervise staff.
* Excellent organisational skills and be capable of working on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
* Understanding of the retail sector (advantageous but not essential).
* Available to start immediately (highly desirable but not essential).
* Must have a recognised professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
* Having previous experience within a similar role in a retail environment (such as with a supermarket in Ireland or with another retail accountancy firm) would be an advantage but all relevant applications will be considered, as full retail accountancy training will be provided.
