The Territory Field Manager / Batavia area role at Seedway involves assisting in the development and implementation of marketing plans to generate profitability and maximize organic growth through key marketing activities for the Farm Seed Division. The incumbent will work diligently to promote the brand, establish new customers, and grow with existing customers in the Batavia area.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with Sales Manager to develop and implement marketing plans within assigned territory of Batavia, NY.
* Maintain individual assigned accounts and relationships as well as develop new distribution channels where deemed necessary.
* Ensure profitable sales growth of assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, risk management, and continual management, coaching, and evaluation of the sales team.
* Develop and implement an effective sales administration plan that includes setting expectations, training, regular in-field coaching, measuring results, and follow-up.
* Assist other Territory Managers on mid to large prospective sales calls and current "key" accounts.
* Develop annual sales goals and key objectives that align with organizational goals and objectives through collaboration with assigned product sales team, oversee implementation, and be responsible for outcome.
* Oversee management of fixed assets and inventories through collaboration with location managers and/or operations manager.
* Responsible for ensuring assigned dealer network comply with government regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.
* Responsible for ensuring company credit policies and procedures are followed with dealer network.
* Promote cross-selling efforts between all department salespeople within assigned territory.
* Coordinate and initiate plot tours, crop days, educational customer meetings, and public relations events on behalf of the sales team with the goal of promoting SEEDWAY products and services.
* Use current target lists to identify progressive customers and to coordinate the sharing of these lists between all product divisions.
* Provide continuous support and assistance to alliance partners and work closely with the Marketing team to develop promotional products.
Requirements
* A normally requires a Bachelor's degree in business or related area or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of business-related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate advanced marketing skills and sales leadership, supervise employees, generate profitable sales, build a repeat customer base, and gain market share.
* Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
* Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
* Will be required to travel independently and overnight.
* Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
* Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK agronomy division products and services.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the agronomy industry.
* Occasionally exposed or required to extreme weather conditions, working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
* May be required to work at varying heights.
* Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
