Senior Cyber Security Specialist urgent Daily rate contractor for Dublin 2. Your role will encompass:
1. Guidance in identifying vulnerabilities and highlight areas for improvement.
2. Implement and recommend best practices to harden network infrastructure and improve overall cyber resilience.
3. Review and assess existing security policies, processes, and business continuity plans to ensure alignment with NIS2 Directive and ISO 27001.
4. Conduct detailed reviews of network, systems, and application security controls.
5. Assist in the development and enhancement of incident response procedures.
6. Lead and facilitate a table-top exercise with the ICT Unit, simulating cyber incidents.
7. Provide practical, real-time advice and support on day-to-day cyber security queries and incidents.
8. Mentor and upskill current cyber security staff through knowledge sharing, training sessions, and best practice guidance.
9. Prepare clear, actionable reports and recommendations based on security assessments.
10. Work closely with internal stakeholders and technical teams to implement security improvements and policy reviews.
11. Support the organisation in maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory and security standards.
Essential Requirements/Experience:
1. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior cyber security role, preferably in a consultancy or advisory capacity.
2. Experience with training IT teams on Cyber Security techniques and processes.
3. Relevant and current cyber security certifications such as:
* CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
* CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
* CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)
* ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Auditor
* Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent.
1. Proven experience with NIS2 Directive implementation and ISO 27001 compliance.
2. Strong technical knowledge of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, and threat hunting techniques.
3. Experience in security hardening of networks, systems, and applications.
4. Demonstrated ability to review, develop, and improve business continuity and incident response processes.
5. Proven track record in conducting and facilitating table-top cyber security exercises.
6. Ability to work independently and manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Experience mentoring and upskilling cyber security staff.
9. Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure situations and respond quickly to cyber security incidents.
