Zurich Dublin Technology Center is looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Cloud and Automation).
Reporting to the regional head of Networks, the Senior Network Engineer will play a key role within our experienced EMEA network team. Supporting our current and future business connectivity requirements, working with our network service providers and multiple cross-functional internal teams including Network Security, Cloud teams, and Advanced OPs to develop and manage scalable, secure, and resilient connectivity infrastructure. Your Role
As a Senior Network Engineer (Cloud and Automation), your main responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and design specifications for both traditional network and multi-cloud connectivity solutions for both business and network projects.
2. Review internal and external supplier proposals and quotations and perform the technical validation of supplier solutions to ensure that they align with company technology standards.
3. Actively seek opportunities for functional and process improvement via automation and adoption of cloud-native connectivity solutions.
4. Investigate and support troubleshooting efforts on internal and Cloud network technical issues.
5. Support governance and improvements in capacity, demand, release and lifecycle, change, and incident management activity from a Network perspective.
6. Provide guidance and recommendations on cloud and automation solutions to the Network team.
7. Document network environments and develop and deploy network policy documents.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Senior Network Engineer (Cloud and Automation), your skills and qualifications will include:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a network engineering role.
3. Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and core technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, ACLs, IPSEC, DNS, etc.
4. Knowledge in WAN/LAN Network Architecture and Operations including Firewalls, Routers, and Switches.
5. Working knowledge of multi-cloud network (AWS and Azure ideally) and connectivity deployments, including Transit Gateway and Virtual WAN, native firewall, and Security groups technologies.
6. Scripting and API utilization experience (preferably Python, XSOAR, ServiceNow).
7. Ability to develop and implement enterprise-grade network infrastructure that is efficient, scalable, resilient, and secure in its design.
8. Experience of apps to cloud migrations and support of a hybrid environment of on-prem and Cloud infrastructure.
9. Experience in complex troubleshooting connectivity issues in both cloud and traditional network environments.
10. Experience working within a geographically distributed IT team spread across multiple time zones.
